Zimbabwe has been hit by an intense Tropical Cyclone. Idai, Regarded as one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere as a whole. The storm has caused catastrophic damage over Zimbabwe and its people, with the death toll rising, they are in dire need of support.
Tropical Cyclone Idai, on record, one of the worst tropical cyclones to hit the Southern Hemisphere, has left Zimbabwe and it's people in immense devastation. The extent of the damage on the ground is severe, destroying roads, homes and bridges, and power and communication lines and with hundreds missing and the death toll rising, Zimbabwe need all the recovery support they can get.
Liasing with support on the ground, there is already a tremendous peoples relief effort underway. This fund will contribute to that with a focus on assisting the reconstruction of roads to gain access to villages affected, food, shelter, water and medical supplies. As short-term problems ease the money will be used for the next stages of rebuilding the villages affected.
As most are aware of the immediate concerns and needs to natural disasters, long term recovery is essential and we hope to efficiently provide support to Zimbabwe by working with local organisations on the ground, to provide ongoing support and create long term and sustainable recovery to the community as they rebuild from this disaster.
