Dear Donor
Amid the harsh conditions faced by displaced families in one of the temporary shelter camps in rural Souran, northern Syria, the story of Samir, an 8-year-old child, stands as a vivid image of childhood suffering under poverty and displacement. Samir lives with his parents and grandparents in a modest house within the camp, lacking the most basic necessities of comfort. The entire family struggles daily to secure food amidst scarce resources and rising prices.
As part of ongoing humanitarian efforts, a complete food basket was distributed to Samir’s family, thanks to the generous support of kind donors. The basket included essential food items such as rice, bulgur, lentils, oil, sugar, chickpeas, and tomato paste—enough to cover the family’s needs for an entire month and provide a minimum level of food security.
The moment they received the basket was filled with emotion. Tears welled up in the grandparents’ eyes, and a small smile lit up Samir’s face when he saw the bag of rice—a gesture that expressed deep gratitude. This contribution restored a bit of peace to a family worn down by displacement, cold, and need.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring a smile to Samir’s face. Your continued support remains the only hope for dozens of other families in the camp, who await a helping hand to ease their suffering.
Together, we draw hope from within the walls of hardship.
