A smile for Lamis' face... and warmth for a mother's heart exhausted by loss

By MUHAMMED DEEBEH | Project leader

Dear Donor

As part of Amal Alumma’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of displaced families in northern Syria, we have distributed a comprehensive food basket to the family of the young girl Lamis, who lives with her mother and uncle Ahmad in a shelter center in the countryside of Souran.

Lamis, a nine-year-old girl, lost her father five years ago due to an airstrike that targeted the market in the city of Marea, where he worked to provide for his family. Since that day, her mother has struggled greatly to secure their basic needs, especially under the harsh living conditions and lack of income sources.

The distributed food basket included essential items such as rice, bulgur, lentils, oil, sugar, and pasta—enough to support the family for an entire month. This brought them a temporary sense of food security and eased the heavy burden on the mother’s shoulders.

Lamis’ face lit up with joy upon receiving the basket, and this support had a profound impact on bringing comfort and relief to the family.

At Amal Alumma, we express our deep gratitude to all the generous donors who made this noble act possible. Your contributions truly make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and distressed families.

Thank you for your kind hearts. Together, we bring hope and give life.
