A Loaf of Bread and the Story of a Little Girl Named Ruwaa

By MUHAMMED DEEBEH | Project leader

Dear Donor

In Maram Camp, located in northern Syria, life is not measured by meals or homes—but by survival, by the strength of mothers, the tears of grandmothers, and the eyes of children searching for safety.

There lives Ruwaa, a young girl who now shares a fragile tent with her mother, younger brother Hatem, and elderly grandmother, after losing her father just six months ago to an untreated heart condition.

Her father was the family's sole provider. Since his passing, her mother has fought alone to meet even the most basic needs, surrounded by the grief of loss and the daily struggle to survive. Her little brother Hatem is still in his early childhood, and her grandmother, too frail to move, is the only remaining warmth in their fragile world.

In these harsh conditions, Amal Alumma was able to deliver daily bread to Ruwaa’s family—part of our efforts to support the most vulnerable families in northern Syria.
It may seem like something small, but for Ruwaa’s family, it means everything.

Her mother told our team:
"Each time bread arrives at our tent, I feel like someone out there sees us. Someone hasn't forgotten Ruwaa or Hatem… That alone gives me the strength to keep going."

Providing bread each day to displaced families like Ruwaa’s is not just about food—it’s about dignity, hope, and survival.
At Amal Alumma, our mission is simple: no one should be left behind.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
We invite you to continue supporting us—so no child goes to bed hungry, no mother cries in silence, and no little girl like Ruwaa fades away in the shadows of the camps.
