From Fields to Survival: Khaled's Fight to Feed His Family

By MUHAMMED DEEBEH | Project leader

Dear Donor

In the heart of Maram Camp in northern Syria, where suffering has become part of daily life, lives the family of young Khaled, a boy who lost his father to the brutal war that tore through their lives and left behind only grief and hardship.

Khaled, though still a child, has become the eldest sibling and the little provider for his family. He lives with his mother, sister Sarah, and brother Hassan. Since the loss of their father, Khaled has had to grow up too fast, working alongside his mother in the harvesting of crops, earning barely enough to get by.

In these harsh conditions, even bread—the most basic of life’s needs—became a daily struggle.
But thanks to your compassionate support, we at Amal Alumma were able to provide fresh bread to Khaled’s family, giving them a moment of dignity, relief, and hope amidst their pain.

The bread you helped deliver was more than food—it was a symbol of solidarity, kindness, and shared humanity. It reached hearts that have grown weary from loss and exhaustion.

At Amal Alumma, we believe that every loaf of bread delivered to a family in need carries a message of hope—and you are the reason that message was delivered.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
With your support, we continue. With your humanity, we ease suffering.

With many thanks
