Brothers Aby (8), Kidame (5), and Damoze (3) were recently treated during an Orbis community outreach program in Ethiopia. The three brothers were struggling with an infectious eye disease called trachoma, which caused pain and kept them from playing outdorrs, or going to school. Their father feared the worst—blindness.
Aster, an Orbis-trained integrated health worker, treated their active trachoma with antibiotics and gave them advice on how to avoid repeat infections to keep their vision healthy.
Thanks to our partners and supporters, Orbis has delivered more than 100 million doses of sight-saving antibiotics with 20 million more planned over the next three years.
We’re so grateful for your continued support. Because of you, Aby, Kidame, and Damoze and millions of other children in Ethiopia, can play with friends, enjoy life and thrive at school.
Thanks for everything you do, every day.
