NDF Pakistan is implementing the project “Donate a Vehicle for NDF Rehabilitation Center, Nawabshah” to improve access to rehabilitation services for children and persons with disabilities from low-income and remote communities. Transportation remains one of the biggest barriers for families seeking regular therapy, as many caregivers cannot afford private transport or travel long distances.
During the reporting period, one vehicle was successfully donated by Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) Pakistan and deployed to the NDF Rehabilitation Center in Qasimabad, Hyderabad. This vehicle is now being used for pick-and-drop services, outreach visits, referrals, and emergency support, significantly improving attendance, continuity of therapy, and timely access to services. Families have reported reduced financial burden and increased motivation to continue rehabilitation sessions.
The positive impact of this intervention has clearly demonstrated the importance of reliable transportation in sustaining rehabilitation outcomes. However, NDF Pakistan currently operates four additional rehabilitation units in Nawabshah, Larkana, Gulistan-e-Johar Karachi, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed Karachi, where transportation support is urgently needed. Many children in these areas continue to miss therapy sessions due to lack of safe and affordable transport.
NDF Pakistan seeks the attention and support of donors to help provide vehicles for these remaining units. With donor support, NDF can ensure equitable access, strengthen service delivery, and reach more children with disabilities—enabling them to receive consistent care, improve functional outcomes, and move toward inclusion and independence.
