In rural areas of Sindh, persons with disabilities face extreme challenges in mobility due to poverty, lack of rehabilitation services, and non-availability of assistive devices, especially wheelchairs. For many families, purchasing a wheelchair is financially impossible, and free assistive devices are extremely rare in remote and underserved communities.
As a result, children and adults with disabilities remain confined to their homes, unable to attend school, access healthcare, or participate in community life. Through GlobalGiving’s generous crowdfunding support, NDF Pakistan launched this project to provide wheelchairs free of cost to the most vulnerable persons with disabilities.
