START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR IN YOUNG FOCUS CATCH-UP!

By Paul van Wijgerden | Managing Director

The new school year has kicked off with a lot of excitement in the Catch-UP Program! Alongside the academic opening, students from Love2Learn, ALS Elementary, ALS Junior High School, and PostCare (our various school dropout programs) participated in several engaging activities—such as a cooking contest, poster making, nutrition classes, and life skills sessions on child protection and human rights.
Our new classroom on the 4th floor was fully utilized for the first time, enabling us to accommodate around 250 children and youth enrolled in our center. Many of them are new students just starting out, while others are returning to advance or repeat their academic year.
Young Focus staff have been incredibly busy preparing for and supporting the launch of this school year. We sincerely hope that this year will be free from the electricity outages, fires, strong typhoons, or other disasters that caused additional hardship in the community last school year.
We are hopeful and excited about the opportunities ahead for these young people. Through the Catch-UP Program, Young Focus continues to empower children in the community with hope and practical tools to change their futures—restoring their right to education and giving them the confidence to dream again.
