Thanks to your generosity, Potomac River Clinic continues to close critical gaps in early hearing care for babies in Washington, DC. Nationwide, one in four infants who do not pass their newborn hearing screening do not receive diagnostic testing or follow-up care, a situation known as being “lost to follow-up.” In Washington, DC, that number is nearly 80 percent.
With your support, we remain one of the few centers in the region offering unsedated Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) diagnostic testing for newborns. Because time is critical, we provide testing for infants regardless of insurance status, including those covered by Medicaid and those without insurance. Our specialized team is able to keep wait times minimal, averaging just eight days, compared with the months-long delays many families face elsewhere in the District.
Your commitment helps ensure that every infant, regardless of family income or insurance status, can receive life-changing care through Potomac River Clinic. Together, we are giving more children the chance to develop language, learn, and thrive.
Thank you for making this impact possible.
