Millions of rural kids lack books that build literacy and eco-awareness. Help us provide environmental education books to 100,000 rural children in South Africa. Through the Nourish Educational Series - locally created stories like Chris the Crocodile- we blend literacy, conservation, and Ubuntu values. Just $4 provides one book to a child, sparking curiosity, reading skills, and a connection to nature. Your support empowers young minds to learn, read, and protect the wild world around them.
In rural South Africa, most children grow up without access to books-especially ones that reflect their environment or daily life. As a result, 8 out of 10 Grade 4 learners can't read for meaning. This literacy gap leaves children disconnected from reading, from nature, and from their own potential. Without early exposure to relevant, engaging stories, they miss the chance to learn, imagine, and grow into informed, empowered environmental stewards.
This project will deliver 100,000 locally created, conservation-themed storybooks to rural children in South Africa. By combining literacy with environmental education and Ubuntu values, each book sparks curiosity, builds reading skills, and nurtures a sense of pride and connection to nature. These engaging, culturally relevant stories empower children to read, imagine, and grow into informed, compassionate stewards of their communities and the planet.
By giving 100,000 children access to books that reflect their world, we build literacy, pride, and environmental awareness. This project lays the foundation for a generation of informed readers who care for their communities and the planet-empowering them to grow into compassionate leaders and protectors of nature.
