The situation of early childhood in Ecuador continues to be alarming: almost 50% live in poverty and have been exposed to violence within the family environment. In addition, the home continues to be the main space for the child's development. That is why your support is still more than necessary.
Through continuous accompaniment - with monthly visits, training and dialogue spaces - we seek to guarantee the integral development of the child: educational, physical and emotional. Affectivity issues have helped many mothers become aware of their dignity, their own value and that of their partners. They have also discovered new ways of parenting with love and respect. One mother shared with us:
"When loving you have to know when to say yes and when to say no, because many times we as mothers or fathers allow -because we have a home- certain things that devalue us. What impacted me the most is to understand that we have to know our value as people and love ourselves to be able to give love; if we do not love ourselves, anyone can say that we are worth less than what we really are" (VS, mother, 32 years old).
Our accompaniment is seen as a guide, a support for motherhood, personal growth and family relationships: “there is no manual for parents, but these activities make us understand that we have to accompany our children, so that they can better develop their skills and become better people” (VS).
With your help, in this school year that is coming to an end, we have achieved:
- To serve almost 250 children and their families.
- Reach 85% of satisfactory development in children's skills.
- Improve the nutritional status of 52% of 25 children detected with malnutrition.
- Strengthen parenting skills of 93% of parents.
