Before the summer break, we organized a summer camp for children ages 3-5 for the second consecutive year. From July 7 to 24, we welcomed 50 children each morning, divided by age, for a playful experience inspired by the movie “Coco.” Through games, songs, recipes, crafts, and outdoor activities, the children strengthened their autonomy, creativity, and bond with their educators.
For many mothers, it was the first time they had entrusted the care of their children to other adults, and they responded with great commitment, collaborating with all the requested materials. For the educators, it was a valuable opportunity to get to know the children better, accompany them on a daily basis, observe their progress, and identify specific needs.
The educators shared some of their greatest satisfactions with us:
"It was nice to see how they can learn from each other and also from us. Some of them were encouraged to play “teacher,” leading the assembly and giving instructions to the other children. They are also very supportive: they share their snacks, look out for each other, and when they go to the park, the older ones gladly take on the responsibility of looking after the younger ones. They all learned to get along, follow instructions, and, above all, they were happy to feel part of something."
In addition, the film taught them the value of showing affection to their parents and the importance of family ties, especially with their grandparents.
We are delighted to start a new school year with 220 children. In addition to educational and family activities, this training cycle incorporates three new modules for parents: Conflict Resolution, Financial Education, and Parenting Skills. The workshops will now include childcare, allowing mothers and fathers to concentrate and participate fully. These actions are the result of what families have asked us for: spaces where they can talk freely and learn effective tools for parenting, coexistence, and household economics.
Thank you for making this possible!
