Between Hardship of Labor and Dream of Engineering

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

"My name is Salim, and in my heart is a dream that resists the exhaustion of the day." With these words, Salim summarizes his story, after the loss of his father, he suddenly found himself the "man of the house," carrying the heavy responsibility of supporting his mother and younger siblings while still in the prime of his youth.

Salim splits his time between grueling labor to provide daily bread and his "Masarat" screen, which accompanies him wherever he goes. Salim says: "Sometimes I study while at work. The physical exhaustion fades every time I think of my goal, I am not just studying to pass, but to become a Mechanical Engineer, to build, repair, and change my family’s reality for the better."

At "Masarat," Salim found the flexibility he needed, our digital platform is the school that goes to him in his workshop and his tent, and our teachers are the support system that compensates for a part of the fatherly warmth he lost, we believe Salim is not just a student, he is a hero battling circumstances to protect his family’s dignity through knowledge and work.

Salim is one of hundreds of orphans balancing earning a living with seeking an education, your donation today ensures Salim stays on his educational path and provides him with the support he needs to see his dream of Mechanical Engineering come to light.
