A Doctor's Dream Blooming in Grandfather's Home

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

In a warm house filled with the love of her grandparents, Shadia, an orphaned student, lives after losing both of her parents. While this home is a sanctuary for her soul, Shadia feared it might be the end of the road for her great ambitions, especially given the difficulty of reaching educational centers, the long distances, and the exhausting costs of transportation.

However, Shadia is not one to surrender to circumstances; she carries in her heart an unwavering dream: "To become a doctor." It is a dream born from the womb of loss, serving as her motivation to heal the wounds of others in the future.

Shadia found in Masarat the bridge she had been searching for. She no longer needs to leave her grandfather’s house or face the risks and obstacles of a long commute; school and her future university are now at her fingertips. Masarat provided her with:

  • Overcoming Geographical Barriers: Digital education allowed Shadia to study from her small room beside her grandfather, without any additional costs.

  • A Safe Environment: She was able to continue her education in an environment that respects her privacy and her family circumstances as an orphan.

  • Direct Academic Support: Connection with distinguished teachers who understand the magnitude of her ambition and help her bridge the "gaps" caused by years of interruption or academic challenges.

Our Partners on GlobalGiving, Your support for Masarat is what made Shadia believe that orphanhood is not the end of the dream, and that "her grandfather’s house" can be the starting point for a great doctor.
