Hasan, The Boy with an Engineer's Vision

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

In the heart of a crowded refugee camp, where alleys are narrow and tents are identical, lives an orphaned boy named Hasan. While some might think the camp's walls define his world, Hasan possesses an "engineer’s eye" that sees what others cannot. He doesn't look at the confinement of his tent; instead, he gazes into the vast spaces of his imagination.

Hasan says with a confident smile:

"I will become an engineer to design my own home exactly as I want a big, organized house with many rooms to fit all my dreams."

For Hasan, orphanhood and displacement are merely temporary stages. He understands that his future home will not be built of stones alone, but of knowledge first. This is where Masarat becomes vital in his life—it is the first architectural office where he drafts the blueprints of his future:

  • Transcending Camp Walls: Through digital education, Hasan has broken the siege of geography. His lessons have become the map leading him toward the Faculty of Engineering.

  • Turning Hardship into Drive: The harshness of camp life was never an obstacle; rather, it was his first inspiration to learn how to build safety and stability.

Our Valued Partners on GlobalGiving, through your continuous support of Masarat, you are laying the "foundation stone" of the grand house Hasan dreams of. You are providing him with the engineering tools to change his reality and the reality of his family.

Thank you for believing that refugee camps can graduate engineers who will rebuild the world with beauty and order.
