Reem..How Did the Smile Return to Her Nice Face?

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

In the life of young Reem, an orphan, colors were limited only to the faces of her parents; they were the only beauty she had ever known in this world. By losing them early, Reem didn't just drown in grief; her entire reality became submerged in the harshness of camp life and the bitterness of being out of school. She found herself alone, facing a faded life that bore no resemblance to her childhood.

For Reem, living in the camp wasn't just about the confinement of space; it was a "disconnection from life." Dropping out of school robbed her of her friends and her dreams, making her days blur together in monotonous cruelty. Reem lived in "forced isolation," where her smile vanished behind a mountain of early worries and responsibilities far beyond her young age.

Reem says she has recently begun to regain her balance and smile again, not just because she returned to her studies, but thanks to the spiritual and social integration at "Masarat":

  • Breaking the Isolation: Through interactive sessions, Reem found herself surrounded by classmates who share her dreams and challenges, making her feel that she is not alone in this world.

  • A Nurturing Environment: Masarat was not just a platform for lessons; it was a community that restored the sense of "belonging" she had lost with her parents' passing.

  • The Smile of Achievement: The smile returned to Reem’s face with every new piece of information she acquired and every word of encouragement she heard from her teachers and peers.

Our Partners in Crafting Happiness on GlobalGiving, your support is what restored Reem's "extended family." You are funding a "psychological environment" that heals an orphan's broken spirit and restores their stolen laughter. Because of you, Reem is studying, laughing, and planning her future with confidence today. Thank you for making "Masarat" a warm home for every orphan who lost their small world.
