Dear Friends,
The James Were Foundation is pleased to report the successful continuation of our education sponsorship program for 65 bright and needy students in Kisumu county Kenya. Through generous contributions made via GlobalGiving, we have ensured that these students were able to report back to school on 30th April,2025, for the new academic term.
all the sponsored students were able to report back to school drawn from the vulnerable backgrounds across Kisumu, and resumed their studies of school fees, uniforms and basic learning materials. Students are enrolled across different high schools in both boarding and day schools due to their academic excellence and special needs.
The retention rate from the previous term is a 100% with no dropouts reported. Termly assessment will be conducted to track academic progress, and mentorship sessions have been scheduled during school holidays.
we still plan to fundraiser to expand to 100 students by January 2026 partnering with local schools for academic mentorship and psychosocial support.
we are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving and all our supporters for their un wavering support together, we are not only keeping children in school but also shaping a generation empowered through education.
