Food Rations for Needy Families - Just $33/Family of 8/Month - Launched in Inner City Neighborhoods

40% of children under the age of 5 in Pakistan are stunted according to the UN World Food Program, and of those, 11% are severely malnourished.  Similarly, 20% of the general population faces hunger on a daily basis.  

As rising prices, job insecurity, and political instability have plundered thousands more into poverty in Pakistan, HOPE is ramping up our efforts to provide basic nutrition and sustenance to disadvantaged families this Ramadan.  Our field team will be working at a grassroots level in underserved villages and urban slum neighborhoods to provide monthly food rations to families living below the poverty line.

Each food ration bag is $33 and contains essentials to last a family of 8 for one month.  Our food rations bags contain wheat flour, rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, tea, milk powder, sugar, and biscuits/dates.  

The pictures below represent our initial Food Rations distributions in Ramadan 2026 in Mujahid Colony, Karachi, an urban slum area in which HOPE operates Home Schools, Maternal and Child Health Centers, and Vocational Training programs for the surrounding underserved community.

• For just $33/Family/Month, you may take part in this Zakat-eligible effort.  

Any contribution is welcome and will go towards the purchase and distribution of food rations for vulnerable families living in dire conditions of poverty.

Newly Constructed Charitable HOPE Hospital in Muzaffargarh, Punjab, Pakistan Scheduled to Debut in May 2026 - Sponsored by IFFCO

Over the past year, the HOPE Team has been eagerly planning the construction and launch of a new Hospital for the needy in Muzaffargarh, Punjab, Pakistan. This new venture will be HOPE's largest Hospital to date and the construction and operations have been magnanimously sponsored by our generous corporate partner, IFFCO.

On February 18, 2026, several IFFCO officials stopped by the new Hospital premise to view the progress of the construction as well as tour the adjacent HOPE Middle School and Vocational Center. They expressed their admiration and appreciation for the poverty alleviation  work HOPE has established in the underserved region of Muzaffargarh, Punjab and look forward to seeing the Hospital becoming a hub of healthcare, healing, and wellness for the community.

HOPE's Formal School and Vocational Center, along with the new Hospital are located in Muzaffargarh, an agricultural city in Southwestern Punjab with a population of approximately 250,000. HOPE's Formal School and Vocational Center are the only facilities operating at no cost (sponsored by donations) for the downtrodden population of the region. Similarly, the upcoming HOPE-IFFCO Hospital will be the only healthcare facility in the area that serves the poor at zero/minimal cost to them.

The HOPE-IFFCO Hospital will be HOPE's largest healthcare facility to date and will be a much-needed presence in an underserved city in Punjab. The Hospital will house the following features:

• Outpatient procedures
• Gynecologist
• 24/7 emergency services
• Orthopedics 
• Vaccinations 
• Normal deliveries 
• Surgeries 
• Neonatal facilities 
• Prenatal and maternal services 
• Diagnostic services (ultrasound, labs, etc.) 

The HOPE-IFFCO Hospital is scheduled to launch in May 2026. The construction is almost complete and the next step is to furnish the facility with medical equipment and furniture.

We are ever so grateful to IFFCO for their trust and incredibly generous gesture of sponsoring the construction and operational costs of this much-needed Hospital! IFFCO has been a loyal and steadfast partner of HOPE for many years, with notable contributions during the 2022 Pakistan Flood Crisis, yearly Ramadan Activities, and our Food Security programs. This new facility will surely serve as a beacon of hope and progress for the community and we look forward to the many positive changes it brings to this region.
