Educate after school-underprivilege children-India

Laxmi is mother of kumaran, who is a after school student and tribal child. Kumaran joined our after school education last year. Till last year they were living in another village which is far from here.Kumaran is a tribal boy of 8th grade from a remote rural background. Life posed many challenges to kumaran parents and they were wage workers. His parents were jobless for many months and they are unable to educate their son and provide meal and they were starving most of the days. They heard about our NGO and it’s services. They planned to migrate to our project area..

Laxmi came to our after school center and asked about services and came to know that we are providing after school education, Free school bags, note books, pen, pencil, geometry box, Etc, dresses, free dinner, skill trainings to the interested parent in sewing. Laxmi felt it is good to learn sewing to start self business. She has under gone 4 months training and learned all important techniques and completed her training. We advice her to work in a tailoring shop for at least 3 months to stitch without any fear.

She completed her 3 months work and got confidence to start her own business. She was unable to buy a sewing machine to start her business. She met our staff and requested for sewing machine. Our staff brought her to director. Our director helped her to buy machine .She started her business and started earning Rupees 700 daily now. All their problems are solved and now they are able to send their child to school, meet their medical bills, and provide food without any difficulties.

While talking about Kumaran dream, he said, "I want to become a doctor in the future." It is indeed a fact that food and the education are the primary promoters that brings her to the after school. We are really grateful to our donors who are changing the lives of hundreds of rural children like Kumaran.
