Weaving Opportunities for Children and Adolescents

By Gilberto Arias | General Director

During October, November, and December, actions continued aimed at providing comprehensive care for children and adolescents experiencing homelessness, reaffirming the institution's commitment to restoring their right to education and access to dignified, safe, and enriching environments.

During this period, activities focused primarily on integrating the children and adolescents into recreational, educational, and social spaces, fostering their socio-emotional development and strengthening community ties. Among the most relevant actions were the following:

• Integration into recreational and play activities: The consistent participation of children and adolescents was promoted in activities designed to foster coexistence, teamwork, emotional expression, and a sense of belonging, contributing to their overall well-being.

• Community-building events: Collective activities were held to strengthen social cohesion and create safe spaces for participants to interact respectfully and meaningfully.

• Christmas celebration and gift distribution: As part of the year-end festivities, a community Christmas celebration was held, accompanied by the distribution of gifts. This provided a space for joy, recognition, and emotional support for children and adolescents, especially meaningful for a population facing highly vulnerable circumstances.

These actions contributed to creating protective and positive environments, essential for the holistic development of the children and adolescents, and reinforced the sense of community and support during the end of the year.

The organization will continue to strengthen its strategies to guarantee access to a comprehensive education, complemented by recreational activities, academic support, and spaces for interaction that promote the full development of children and adolescents.
