Dear friends,
Over the past months, we have continued to strengthen our mission of bringing socio-emotional well-being to schools and communities through our program Educar para el Bienestar (Educating for Well-being). With your support, we have expanded our reach. From 2024 to date, we have trained over 7,000 educators and school leaders, as well as their families, offering them tools to ceate safer, more caring, and more resilient environments.
Your support of one teacher trained impacts hundreds of children in time. This is a multiplying effect that, drop by drop, changes classrooms, schools, and communities. Thank you. We can only do this together.
During this period, a preprint of our Educating for Well-being study was published in th Journal of Social and Emotional Learning: Research, Practice, and Policy, a significant step toward sharing our research and highlighting solid results in socio-emotional well-being. This large-scale pilot study provides preliminary evidence of the program’s feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness.
We were also honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs in Mexico, an initiative that celebrates organizations creating meaningful impact with transparency and social commitment.
One of the most inspiring stories comes from a teacher in Chemax, Yucatán, who shared with us:
“When I started this course, I was struggling emotionally and dealing with a lot of anxiety. Now that it’s finished, I feel deeply moved by everything I’ve learned… I can now name and recognize my emotions. I’m happy and proud of what I’ve accomplished, and it’s bittersweet to finish this course. I feel a sense of nostalgia because this adventure has come to an end.”
In recent months, we’ve expanded our reach, bringing the program to more participants in Northern Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula through the Systemic Leadership Training for SEL implementation, a substantial part of our Educating for Wellbeing’s systemic, whole-school approach.
Since our last update, we have:
Looking ahead, we are excited to share that upcoming projects are confirmed in these very same states, while we will add Quintana Roo and Guanajuato, where we will deepen these practices with preschool and elementary school groups.
This period has been a testament to steady, expanding work: thousands of education professionals trained, school communities supported, and large-scale projects already in motion. Each step strengthens AtentaMente’s vision: that every child, teacher, and family has access to protective and transformative socio-emotional environments.
None of this would be possible without your generosity and trust. Every donation helps us take another step toward building communities where children, families, and teachers can flourish emotionally and socially.
With gratitude,
