Help Feed 250 Hungry Children in Kenya

Dear Supporters,

As we mark the last report for the year 2018, we would wish to extend our sincere thanks to the GVI-CT for your great financial support to our school project.

We would like to let you know that all the funds forwarded to this school project have been spent as per the request made. We highly appreciate the donations as a lot has been achieved through this funding. We have been able to pay the rent on time which has provided a conducive working environment where the landlord-tenancy relationship has been one of the best. Salaries and wages have been paid on time and thereby maintaining the group who in return gave quality work and we are proud of the amazing productivity of the school from the positive teamwork.

Moreover, we have been able to source some more financial assistance from elsewhere, although most of the donors are the former GVI-Mombasa volunteers and staff who remained still attached to the project. We have been able to fully renovate two classes from one of the donors’ funding, the classes were made more spacious, more stable walls were fixed and enough ventilation provided hence favourable and more friendly to the learners. More such funding have been received towards the school uniforms, school fees for the most disadvantaged children as well as top up of the salaries and the wages for the workers. We have been able to maintain the workers for such a long time that good general work consistency has been well maintained hence one of the best national examination results in the whole country. Despite the challenges we go through, we were able to attain a mean score 303 marks out of the possible 500 marks. These results are far above our previous ones and also has given our school a better position in the schools’ ranking countrywide in the just concluded national examinations.

Also, due to high fuel consumption as we provide both the breakfast and the lunch break meals to everyone in the school, we received funding for construction of an energy saving stove from a shared duty of two of our donors. The stove is fully installed and ready for use at the start of the new academic term of the new year. With the energy saving stove, fuel consumption in the feeding programme shall be minimised at a great deal and therefore relieving the school on the expenditure to a certain pleasing point.
