We learn from our mistakes

Dear Supporters,

We value your support in helping us feed the children each day and we also try ways to be innovative to help bring cash into the school so we can continue to operate. For about 8 years now we have 5 motorcycles that we own and rent out to the local community as it is the main way people get around in Kenya.

We have never had an issue and the income from this has helped hugely with our teachers salaries and stationery for the children. Sadly last week one of our bikes was in an accident and it turns out the local that rented the bike gave it to his brother who drove it drunk. It's our first incident in 8 years but we are learning and will be putting in policies to ensure this risk is minimised in the future but this month we are left in a tight position.

The motorbike has been taken by the police and with good old African corruption we are going to have to pay for it to be returned and fixed. The lady that was hit was an ex-students mother and luckly she has no long lasting injuries but does require medical attention and doesn't have healthcare so as a school we will take responsibility and fund her treatment.

With all these extra costs sadly we are going to end November in the negative which impacts us in December including the food bill so we kindly request if you can help us again to get through the last month of 2022 we would be super greatful

Thank You,
