Dear Supporters,
GVI Cap Ternay has been working alongside the Presidents Village for many years, the money that we raise goes towards them in continuing their education of the marine world, and to make improvements at the facility that the children live in.
In the past 3 months the staff and volunteers have been making one last push to raise money for the Presidents Village one last time. We have continued to create and sell our dive log books here on base, with the profit bring put towards one last project with Presidents Village, which currently is still being planned out.
Money that has been raised so far has been going towards the supplies for the children, including note books, calculators, text books, pens, pencils and everything they need to be prepared for the new school year. We have also supported them to make small improvements to their living quarters as well and communal spaces.
The whole team here in Cap Ternay also took part in organising a sports day for the children, which involved a variety of different games and challenges for them all to participate in. It was a great day for everyone that joined in for the fun!
We already have plans for our next 2 big challenges that will be happening later this year. The funds raised during these events will be going into the GVI Trust and we are still looking for partners that would be able to put the money to good use, so look out for our next report to see how our challenges go, and where we have decided to donate our fundraising to.
It has been a quiet three months here at Cap Ternay, but we are looking forward to our next couple of months ahead! Our next big challenge is to be a race around the island of Mahe with a scavenger hunt along the way, followed by our annual raft race within the Baie Ternay Marine Park which involved a large number of our local partners joining in the activity and bringing a lot of people from the local area all to bring awareness to the marine world and the issues that it is currently facing.
Thank you to everyone that has donated or supported us so far this year, and we hope to see your continued support for the last part of 2018, all the best from the Cap Ternay Team!
With Gratitude,
GVI Seychelles Team
