Dear Supporter,
Look smart me scallywags, for today be the day we make a dash for all them golden doubloons! Rumour has it that our old Davie has hidden his loot around Cap Ternay, in the Seychelles, and the word be that he found enough gold to buy each lad and lass a life's supply of rum. So grab the coffer, bring a spring upon her cable, and a hempen noose to any who get in our way. We sail at sunrise!
Earlier in November our team at Cap Ternay arranged the Great Dash for Doubloons and turned into pirates in an effort to raise money for the annual Christmas party at the President's Village Home.
After a rain delay that pushed our challenge back 2 days, we were off! The volunteers were divided into four teams and raced against each other to be the first to collect all of the treasure, hidden all around the island. The day was an underwater and land-based adventure- fitting their setting in the Seychelles!
We are so pleased to confirm that the volunteers managed to raise $544. Hitting our target and then some!
This means that we are able to buy a present for each of the children, host a fun party and possibly even have a little extra to go towards buying new equipment for our weekly swimming and snorkeling lessons. This is a wonderful way to end the year and it gives the kids a fun day to look forward to.
We thank you for your incredible support over the past year!
With Gratitude,
GVI Seychelles
