Dear Supporter,
Towards the end of 2015 we celebrated our annual Creole Day/ Christmas party. This event wrapped up another great year of fundraising and events with the President’s Village.
The day was held at the home with all the children. We had a face painting station, an arts and crafts table, a coconut bowling alley, and ring toss. We also played “Pin the Fin on the Shark”, and a few rounds of football. On top of that, there was a lot of running around, with many of the GVI guys being used as climbing gyms in the process!
Once all the games had thoroughly tired us out, it was time for a Creole Christmas lunch, put on for us buy the staff at the home. All the volunteers, staff, and children piled inside for a fantastic dinner.
After lunch, it was time to give each child special a gift, bought with money raised via the Charitable Trust. Gifts included MP3 players, footballs, barbies, cars, shoes and many more things! Once the presents had been given out, GVI received a heart-felt thank you from Mr. Toussaint, the manager of President's Village and all the children. It was truly touching to see the happy smiles on all their faces after receiving their presents and even more heart warming as we watched them all playing around with their new toys as soon as they were unwrapped.
As the day wound down and it was time for us to leave it was clear that the kids had all had a great day and were sad to see us go. Luckily for us, we continue to see them each week at our weekly snorkel sessions, so it is never goodbye for long!
Thank you once again to all those who have supported our GVI Charitable Trust program, and contributed to help us help and support the President’s Village Children's Home.
Even small donations go a long way to help us run the program and support the home.
With Gratitude,
GVI Seychelles
