Educational digital skills for children at risk

At "Casa PACO (PACO Home)", we restore and guarantee the rights of boys and adolescents to generate social change.

The “Educational Digital Skills for Children at Risk” project seeks to comprehensively prepare for the digital future. It increases their digital literacy, computational thinking, creativity, communication skills and online collaboration, and provides more opportunities for academic success, while bridging the digital divide.

During the second quarter of 2025, we worked with 25 boys and adolescents at Casa PACO. We are very proud to know that their computer skills were reflected in the increase in their final grade point average for the school year.

They are allowed access to entertainment, always with supervision, as we encourage their curiosity and fun responsibly.

• On school days, they have 1 to 3 hours of computer use to complete assignments and research.
• 30% of participants know keyboard shortcuts for general computer use.
• 80% of participants have made progress in using search tools.
• 75% use Windows software.
• 15% use CANVA and other online applications to enhance their schoolwork.
• Participants use other digital devices such as printers and scanners to complete their schoolwork.
• They have supervision and technical assistance at all times in front of a monitor.

Having and mastering digital tools empowers them as active users in today's technological society. Our boys and adolescents complete their digital tasks every day, and if they need to spend more time on the computer, especially teenagers, they always have the flexibility and support to complete their digital tasks.

En "Casa PACO" restituimos y garantizamos los derechos de niños y adolescentes para generar cambios sociales.

El proyecto “Educational Digital Skills for Children at Risk (Habilidades digitales educativas para niños en riesgo)” busca preparar de manera integral para el futuro digital. Incrementa su alfabetización digital, pensamiento computacional, creatividad, habilidades de comunicación y colaboración en línea, y proporciona más oportunidades de éxito académico, al mismo tiempo que se reduce la brecha digital.

Durante el segundo trimestre de 2025, trabajamos con 25 niños y adolescentes que se encuentran en Casa PACO. Estamos muy orgullosos de saber que su conocimiento en computación se reflejó en el incremento de su promedio final del año escolar.

Se les permite acceder a entretenimiento, siempre con supervisión, ya que motivamos su curiosidad y diversión responsablemente.

• En días de clases cuentan con 1 a 3 horas de uso de computadora para realizar tareas e investigaciones.
• 30% de los participantes conocen atajos con el teclado para uso general del equipo de cómputo.
• 80% de los participantes han avanzado en el uso de herramientas de búsqueda.
• 75% utilizan programas de la paquetería Windows.
• 15% utiliza CANVA y otras aplicaciones online para enriquecer sus trabajos escolares.
• Los participantes utilizan otros equipos digitales como impresora y escáner para completar sus trabajos escolares.
• Cuentan con supervisión y asistencia técnica en todo momento frente a un monitor.

Tener herramientas digitales y dominarlas les empodera como usuarios activos en la sociedad tecnológica actual. Nuestros niños y adolescentes resuelven sus tareas digitales día a día, y si es necesario ocupar más tiempo el equipo, sobre todo los adolescentes, siempre cuentan con la flexibilidad y ayuda para realizar sus labores digitales.

With the project "Educational Digital Skills for Children at Risk" we seek to fully prepare children for the digital future by developing their digital literacy, computational thinking, creativity, communication and online collaboration skills, and laying the foundation for their academic and professional success, while also seeking to bridge the digital divide.

We are sincerely grateful for your trust in our project, which has been instrumental in generating real change in the lives of our children and adolescents. Your generous contribution has made a profound difference, and we greatly appreciate your support.

In this last quarter of 2025, we are working with 23 children and adolescents at Casa PACO, up from 25 currently.

• On school days, they have 1 to 3 hours of computer use to complete homework and research.
• 75% of beneficiaries have made progress in using search tools and Windows software.
• Beneficiaries use other digital devices such as printers and scanners to complete their schoolwork.
• They have 24/7 technical supervision and assistance in front of a monitor.

Digital activities are empowering them as active users in today's technological society. They are also allowed access to entertainment, always with supervision, as their curiosity must be responsibly encouraged. Our children and adolescents complete their digital tasks every day, and if they need to spend more time on the computer, especially adolescents, they always have the flexibility and support to complete their digital tasks.
