Over 40 local teachers employed by Phoenix in 2013

2013 has started extremely well, with the schools reopening after the holidays in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Perú restarts in March and Ecuador never actually stopped (their holidays are in July!). For Fly The Phoenix it is a year when the number of our own local teachers surpasses 40 on the ground. That means we have created 40 new jobs in the teaching environment in Latin America, thanks to donations. An incredible effort and the children benefit from having locally-trained teachers.

Many of the teachers are products of the Phoenix education system over the past 10 years; we have paid for them to go to school and teaching college, so for the children to see that this is possible is even better for the future - it CAN be done!

The number of children benefitting from education this year is over 1000. In our projects they receive daily food and fruit and the most of the materials they need to study effectively. The parents still must ratain a certain degree of responsibility for their child's education, so they must provide the basic necessary materials at the start of the year, including workbooks, pens, pencils etc. We provide the rest!

So in 2013, what we are seeing are over 40 new jobs created in the teaching profession and over a 1000 children receiving full-time education. Thankyou all so much for your donations this far, and in the future. Together we will provide a better future in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Perú - cheers
