Give a family dignity this Eid Al-Adha

By Rua Ahmad | Noor Rehabilitation center

As we approach Eid Al-Adha, a time of compassion, generosity, and shared humanity, Noor Society for People with Disabilities would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters and contributors. Your continued trust and generosity have enabled us to stand beside the most vulnerable families during extremely difficult times.

Today, we reach out to you once again — not only to say thank you, but to ask for your renewed support.

Following the recent war and the ongoing economic crisis, the needs of Palestinian families have increased dramatically. Rising unemployment, food insecurity, and loss of income have placed an immense burden on households across Bethlehem. For families of persons with disabilities, this burden is multiplied. Many caregivers are unable to work, medical and rehabilitation costs are high, and basic necessities have become increasingly unaffordable.

In the coming year and during the upcoming Eid Al-Adha, Noor Society aims to provide Qurbani (sacrificial meat) and fresh meat distributions to a large number of families who are unable to support themselves. This initiative seeks to restore dignity, ensure food security, and allow families to experience the joy of Eid like everyone else.

The planned distributions will target families living in:

  • Aida Refugee Camp

  • Al-Azza (Beit Jibrin) Refugee Camp

  • Bethlehem city

  • Beit Jala

  • Doha

  • Al-Khader

Priority will be given to families of persons with disabilities, including households caring for:

  • Children and adults with physical disabilities

  • Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Persons with intellectual disabilities

  • Children with multiple disabilities

  • Individuals with speech and communication disorders

The age range of persons with disabilities supported through this initiative spans from early childhood to adulthood, with particular focus on children and youth aged 3 to 18 years, as well as dependent adults living with severe disabilities.

This Eid initiative is more than food distribution. It is about solidarity, dignity, and inclusion. For many families, receiving meat during Eid means being able to celebrate, to gather around a shared meal, and to feel that they are not forgotten.

As we prepare for the new year, your support can help us reach more families, cover more areas, and respond to the growing humanitarian needs within our community. A single donation can provide meat for a family, bring relief to a caregiver, and place a smile on a child’s face during Eid.

We kindly invite you to stand with us once more. Your Eid contribution today can turn sacrifice into hope, hardship into relief, and generosity into lasting impact.

Together, let us ensure that this Eid Al-Adha is a time of mercy and joy for families who need it most.
