Heavy monsoon rains across Pakistan’s Punjab province have killed 65 people and injured nearly 300 in the past 24 hours, provincial officials said, bringing the nationwide death toll from the rains to at least 180 since late June.

The downpours on Thursday caused flooding and building collapses, with most of the deaths caused by the roofs of weaker homes failing. Lahore, the eastern provincial capital, reported 15 deaths, Faisalabad nine, and the farming towns of Okara, Sahiwal and Pakpattan several more.

Pakistan is country where floods, cyclone and earthquake hit several times in past 20 years and the vulnerability and poverty and environmental changes impact increases with the time. The floods 2022 hit hard and killed 1750 people and 850,000 animal and 33 million people out of home, during March 2025 still people are vulnerable and needs attention all of us

Many families in Kenya, especially in informal settlements, rural areas, and Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), face serious challenges in accessing clean and safe water. This issue has a major impact on health, hygiene, education, and overall quality of life.

Here are a few key factors contributing to the problem:

• Inadequate Infrastructure: Many of these areas lack piped water systems, and existing infrastructure is often poorly maintained.

• Contaminated Sources: People rely on rivers, ponds, or shallow wells that are easily contaminated by human and animal waste.

• Climate Change: Droughts and erratic rainfall patterns affect water availability, especially in Sindh, Punjab and Baluchistan regions.

• Population Growth: Rapid urbanization and population growth in informal settlements overwhelm the limited water resources.

• Economic Constraints: Many families can't afford to buy bottled or treated water, nor the means to purify it themselves.
