Following the recent escalation in Lebanon, thousands of families from the South and Bekaa have been displaced with limited resources. Many are now living in collective shelters or temporary accommodations without access to basic necessities. SHiFT aims to provide emergency support including food assistance, hygiene kits, shelter support, and education follow-up for children, prioritizing the most vulnerable such as women, children, and the elderly.
The recent conflict escalation in Lebanon has caused widespread internal displacement, particularly in the South and Bekaa regions. Many families were forced to flee their homes due to security threats and infrastructure damage, arriving with no belongings and limited financial means. As a result, they now rely heavily on humanitarian assistance while facing major challenges, including overcrowded shelters, lack of basic items, limited access to food and hot meals, and essential hygiene supplies
This intervention will focus on responding to the urgent needs through rapid needs assessments in shelters and host communities, the distribution of hot meals and food parcels, and the provision of essential relief items such as hygiene kits, blankets, pillows and dignity kits for women and girls. The project will also support coordination in collective shelters to ensure organized and fair aid distribution, and monitor the education needs of displaced children.
While the project focuses on providing immediate life-saving assistance, it will also contribute to strengthening long-term resilience for displaced families and host communities by improving food security, reducing health risks through access to hygiene supplies, supporting continued educational engagement for displaced children, and strengthening coordination between volunteers, shelters, and humanitarian actors to enhance community capacity to respond to future crises.
