Hello There!
Like everyone times are tough and finances are even tigher and so we have had to get a bit more creative in our ways of local engagement and this month we decided to focus on the South African coastal line and in partnership with the local aquarium we hosted our first successful event!
Family Beach Day was a sponsored event that allowed the community to come together at a fun beach event to learn, the event was open to all families, local scgool learners and really showcased community spirit and environmental care. The day consisted with fun educational activities and awareness on the impact of trash in the ocean and the day fisnished with a group beach clean up colelcting a total of 130Kg rubbish. 150 people attended and we hpee these 150 now educated become amabssadors and help limit the trash entering the ocean.
As this event was a great success and low cost to run we would love to focus on this as a priority to engage local commuunities around the world moving forward but for now it is back to our fundraising efforts!
