Chennai has been critically submerged by the worst flooding in recent heavy rains. Breach of many lakes, caused heavy water stagnation not only in Chennai, but in many parts of Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and cuddalore districts. Millions of victim’s, rich or poor suffered immeasurable destruction, loss, damage and despair.
CHHASE staff and volunteers are working for the relief of affected people. Many non-profits are on the field and are doing commendable relief work.
Currently, CHHASE is distributing Bed sheets, sarees, Dhoties, Rice, Thuvar dal, cooking oil, toiletries, and other daily survival items. CHHASE is working in Chennai surroundings, 50 villages in Tiruvallur and 32 villages in kancheepuram districts. Immediate need is 2500 survivors in need of Bed sheets, sarees, Dhoties, Rice, Thuvar dal, cooking oil, toiletries, and other daily survival items. 1500 school children are in need of school kits to continue their education without dropout. 21 houses have completely damaged and in need of shelters. Though we are supplying medicines, survivors are in need of medical camps and medicinal support.
