Skill Development and Livelihood Promotion Programme
Eco-Friendly Jute Bag Making Training
RWDT implemented a 30-day eco-friendly jute bag making training programme for 50 young women from Tharamangalam, with the valued support of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII). The programme focused on strengthening women’s livelihoods through sustainable and market-oriented skill development.
RWDT mobilised and organised the participants, coordinated training logistics, and ensured effective implementation of the programme. All 50 women successfully completed the training and were awarded certificates, marking a 100% completion rate.
Beyond technical skills, participants were guided in entrepreneurship development, including identification of raw material vendors, understanding market opportunities, and linking with potential buyers. The women are now equipped to initiate their own income-generating activities and move towards self-reliance.
Key Outcomes
50 young women trained in eco-friendly jute bag production
100% training completion and certification
Women supported to start micro-enterprises
Enhanced income potential and confidence among participants
Sustainability and Follow-up
RWDT will provide one year of follow-up and handholding support, including mentoring, market linkage facilitation, and business guidance, to strengthen enterprises and improve profitability.
