Not just a one time gift!

By Kenita Smith | President/CEO & Founder

Imagine a moment so powerful it stops you in your tracks. Recently, at one of our events, one of our participants, a  woman named Autumn, said, “You saved my life.” Those words reflect the impact of everyone who believes in giving to something bigger than themselves.

Together, we’re not just offering a one-time gift; we’re creating life-changing opportunities that extend far beyond a single moment.

Autumn’s story before joining the H.O.P.E program is one of courage and love. As a single parent diagnosed with Lupus in 2021, she has had to scale back her dream career in culinary arts and apply for disability, which resulted in her being wrongfully fired. She decided the best route to pivot would be school, so she applied to Southern New Hampshire University. She is now a full-time senior looking to obtain her Bachelor of Science in business administration. Due to Ongoing challenges, her perfect 4.0 began to be affected as was is doing her best to build it back up from a 3.9. Along with long days, her nights are even longer, spent not just studying to build a better future but tending to her Son’s emotional and physical needs. There’s little time for self-care, no room to pause and breathe.

For parents like Autum, quitting isn’t an option. Their little ones depend on them, and every day is a battle to stay strong, to keep going, to mask the exhaustion and fear with a smile. As the saying goes, sometimes you “laugh to keep from crying”—and that’s been Autum’s reality. Now left to support herself and her son with limited income, she battles daily to stay strong and keep smiling despite the exhaustion and fear.

But we can continue to change that. Your generosity becomes a lifeline. It’s not only financial support; it’s a reminder that Autumn and others like her are not alone.

Your gift says, “I believe in you.”

It offers hope and encouragement, helping them rewrite their stories. You give Autumn the chance to focus on her studies without worrying about how to support her family, empowering her and her son.

Autumn’s words, “You saved my life,” remind us of the impact we can make together.

Your contribution, no matter the size, declares your belief in resilience and hope.

Let’s keep lifting others. Join a movement that changes lives. Together, we can ensure that more people like Autumn hear, “You are enough, and we’ve got your back.”
