Breaking Barriers for Single Parents in 2025

In a world that moves faster than ever, it’s easy to fall through the cracks — especially if you’re trying to climb your way out. For single Parents in 2025, those cracks have widened into canyons. While single parents make up 11% of all undergraduate students, only 8% earn an associate’s or bachelor’s degree within six years. Compare that to the 57% completion rate for women without children — and the gap becomes painfully clear.

But here’s the truth: these aren’t people who “gave up.” These are parents who dared to dream in spite of the odds — balancing coursework, parenting, jobs, and survival. They’re not lazy. They’re exhausted, overextended, and under-supported by a system that wasn’t built with their realities in mind.

Think about a time you needed help — really needed it. How hard was it to ask? How many doors were closed before someone finally said “yes”?

For single mothers today, that “yes” can mean the difference between finishing a degree or dropping out. Between stability and survival. Between hope and hopelessness. Many of these parents are working more than 20 hours a week while raising children and attending classes. They’re juggling late nights, early mornings, and endless deadlines — and still, they’re often told they “make too much” to qualify for assistance, even as they struggle to keep the lights on or food on the table.

Federal support programs like the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) do exist — but they’re underfunded and unable to meet the overwhelming need. Affordable childcare is scarce. Family-friendly policies are nearly nonexistent. The system simply wasn’t built with children in mind.

At H.O.P.E. Inc., we’re changing that narrative. We provide wraparound support designed to bridge the gap between survival and success. Your giving directly fuels that mission — and the results speak for themselves:

82% graduation rate among our participants

53% of graduates are the first in their families to earn a degree

Average annual income increased by $44,885 (179%)

92% of graduates now have savings accounts — up from just 36% — with an average balance of $5,601 (a 932% increase!)

This is what your giving does. It’s not just charity; it’s transformation. It’s investing in parents who, when given the right tools, rewrite the story for their entire families.

Because if this were your daughter, your sister, or your friend, wouldn’t you want someone to step in and help her cross it?

Be that someone today.
Your gift doesn’t just provide housing or childcare — it provides hope, stability, and legacy.

Let’s rewrite the odds together.
Give now. Be their advocate. Build their future.
