In the vibrant yet often overwhelming city of New Taipei, Agape Children’s Home stands as a beacon of hope and sanctuary for Taiwan’s most vulnerable youth. This facility, dedicated to transforming the lives of out-of-home care children, provides more than just shelter; it offers a lifeline to those escaping the shadows of family dysfunction, neglect, and abuse.
Ying's journey at Agape Children's Home illustrates the profound impact of compassionate care. When she first arrived, Ying struggled to fit in, frequently clashing with her peers. The caregivers at Agape, however, saw beyond her behaviour to the underlying trauma. They employed a strategy of consistent engagement and genuine concern, asking simple, everyday questions like, “How was school today?” Over time, these small acts of kindness broke down Ying's barriers, helping her form meaningful connections with her peers and find her place within the home.
Bubu's story is another testament to the transformative power of Agape Children's Home. Arriving with a history of severe trauma and impulse control issues, Bubu initially led a life marked by school absences and an over-reliance on mobile games as an escape from reality. However, through the dedicated efforts of Agape's caregivers and the involvement of skilled counsellors, Bubu began to rebuild her life. Today, she is a joyful presence within the home, actively participating in daily activities and showcasing her talents in cooking and drawing.
Agape Children’s Home is meticulously designed to replicate the warmth and stability of a family environment. The holistic approach includes secure housing, life skills training, academic support, and mental health services, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. The goal is not merely to provide a temporary refuge but to offer a foundation upon which these children can build a brighter future.
Join us as we continue to nurture and transform the lives of vulnerable children at Agape Children’s Home. Your support can provide the love, care, and resources these young hearts need to heal and flourish.
