Summary of Impact
Your generous support through GlobalGiving has made a meaningful difference in improving access to inclusive education for children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties in Kajiado County, Kenya. Through strategic partnerships with local schools and focused teacher capacity building, we have expanded our reach and strengthened sustainable support systems for learners who are often left behind.
Key Achievement
50 teachers trained on understanding dyslexia, early identification of learning difficulties, and evidence-based instructional approaches.
Each trained teacher supports approximately 25 learners, meaning the training has an indirect reach of 1,250 children in their classrooms.
Total children reached as a result of this project: 1,600 learners
(350 directly supported + 1,250 reached through trained teachers)
What the Donations Supported
Thanks to donor contributions, we were able to:
Conduct teacher training workshops focused on dyslexia awareness, inclusive classroom practices, and structured literacy approaches.
Partner with schools in Kajiado County to integrate dyslexia-friendly teaching methods into daily classroom instruction.
Support children struggling with reading and learning by creating more understanding, responsive, and inclusive learning environments.
Why This Matters
Teachers are the primary support system for learners with dyslexia. By empowering educators with the right knowledge and tools, we create long-term, scalable impact that extends far beyond individual interventions. Neurodivergent children who were previously misunderstood are now being identified early and supported with empathy and appropriate strategies.
Looking Ahead
Building on this momentum, we aim to:
Train more teachers to expand our reach to additional schools and communities.
Provide follow-up mentorship and classroom support to ensure sustained impact.
Reach even more children with dyslexia and other invisible learning difficulties, especially in underserved and rural areas.
Thank You
Your generosity is transforming classrooms, changing mindsets, and giving dyslexic learners a fair chance to thrive. Thank you for believing in inclusive education and standing with us as we empower educators and support every child’s right to learn.
