MHO is a women-headed and award-winning non-governmental, organization established in 2011 with the mission of Empowering and changing the personal-social, and economic status of all women and children of Ethiopia who live in poverty by giving them opportunities and supports which leads to development. MHO was founded by a role model woman, who had long been served in Ethiopia Red Cross. She is currently considered by many Ethiopian as 'mother' to Ethiopia's most vulnerable kid. Since its establishment, the organization has implemented many life-changing projects mainly focusing on women and children and improving the lives of very poor women and children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities Since its establishment MHO successfully implemented high impact program in over 40 villages in 5 Regional States of Ethiopia and have impacted over 300,000 marginalized individuals majorly women in rural areas. In connection to women and children protection, MHO reached more than 75,000 most marginalized children across five regions and one major city: Addis Ababa Oromia, SNNPR, Amhara, Somalia, and Tigray regions. However given the current magnitude child and women are living in poverty, combating the challenges confronting Ethiopia’ marginalized children and venerable girls  needs intensified effort and support of thoughtful and generous donation to get children back to school in conflict-affected areas.

During this reporting period, no new donations were received under the project titled “Empower Destitute Women in Digital & Financial Skills.” However, MHO strategically leveraged available resources, including support from other GlobalGiving contributions, to sustain ongoing activities and continue empowering women despite funding challenges.

As always, any progress achieved by MHO is made possible only through the compassionate support of GlobalGiving, individual donors, corporate partners, and like-minded organizations that share our vision of shared humanity. Your generosity has gone beyond financial support; it has restored hope, dignity, and opened a path toward a brighter future for the women we serve.

Thanks to your support, MHO has continued to provide training, guidance, and resources to destitute women, enabling them to gain critical digital and financial skills, increase self-reliance, and take meaningful steps toward economic empowerment. Each success story reflects not just the efforts of MHO but the impact of a global community committed to change.

On behalf of the women, their families, and the entire MHO team, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your contributions have made a lasting difference in the lives of those affected by economic and social challenges. Together, we are building a legacy of resilience, compassion, and hope
