We were hoping to have at least part of our paperwork processed by this time of the year but another provincial elections are coming up so the government offices are not processing any new application. There might be some changes to regulations so they want to wait for another month before they can start looking at new project proposals.
So we still have to wait. But we are getting new staff in place and they will work at our children's home in Birgunj to get to know the project and then they will replicate the project in Butwal.
One of our boys at the Birgunj home is actually from a village near Butwal so we need go there very soon anyway to try and link him with his family. He was found in India at a railway station and sent back to Nepal and the police and children's authorities referred him to our children's home. The boy says he has parents but so far the police or the local authorities haven't been able to trace them, so we're trying to do whatever we can to help locate them.
We will keep you updated with the progress and hopefully we can share some good news within our next report.
Thank you so much for all your support so far, and please keep supporting the street children that really need our help.
