Greetings from Casa sin Fronteras. We want to share with you the work we have been able to do during these months. It has been very gratifying the impact we have been able to make with the students of 5 schools and the children living in a foster home, in the Arecibo area.
At the children's foster home we worked on 3 Art Therapy workshops for children from 4 to 11 years old. At the Garrochales School fourth grade children participate in the Dance-Movement Therapy workshops. At the Sabana Hoyos school, 3rd grade students worked on emotional aspects through Art Therapy. At the Santana Neighborhood School, the 7th grade pre teens also worked with Art Therapy. At the Factor Neighborhood School, a group selected by their teachers from 3rd to 5th grade were taking the Music Therapy workshops. At the Cotto Neighborhood School, it was the students with severe autism who worked using Music Therapy.
In some of these schools, the Counselor offered workshops for parents on stress and anxiety management during parenting years.
The Counselor also facilitated several emotional well-being workshops for fathers, mothers and guardians of the children, virtually, open to the entire community.
A beautiful experience we had this semester was being able to carry out an Artistic-Creative Therapies Day for the homeschoolers students of our area. These adolescents and young people enjoyed workshops with the Counselor and therapists from the three areas of fine arts that we use as therapeutic tools: music, art and dance-movement.
The Psychologist and Counselor continue to provide their individual services for youth and adults by appointment at our facilities.
We are already planning the activities for next semester and we will announce it later. All of this work has been made possible, in part, by your generosity through GlobalGiving. We continue working to improve the mental and emotional health of our children, young people and adults. We wish you a happy holiday season and a happy new year.
