As we begin this new year, the Women Inspiration Development Center (WIDC) reflects on a busy and successful 2025. It was a year in which we successfully carried out many advocacy projects, empowerment programs, global days of action, and important trainings. Our team is inspired by the strength of our community, and we are grateful for every life we have touched together over the past year.
Our work is driven by a clear mission to improve the health, economic, and social status of Nigerian women and girls. We empower them to lead fulfilling lives that are completely free from violence. We envision a Nigeria where every woman and girl has the power to shape her own destiny and break free from the chains of poverty and social limitations. We are building a future filled with endless possibilities, and we continue to work hard to ensure our voices are heard.
Looking ahead, we are very excited to share that our 2026 work plan includes the launch of the WIDC Empowerment Academy and Girls Mentorship which will be available both online and physically. While WIDC focuses primarily on girls and women, we have also formed the "Real Men Allies." This group is made up of boys and men, ensuring they are included in the growth process to create a more supportive society for everyone. We will continue to execute impactful projects and celebrate global days throughout the year. Furthermore, we look forward to collaborating with more organizations and expanding our reach internationally to share our mission with the world.
As an organization, we remain dedicated to our core goals of ensuring safe and quality education for vulnerable Nigerian girls. We continue to serve as a resource center for survivors of gender-based violence, including women, girls, and the most vulnerable people in our society. We are also working hard to increase access to important services for survivors, especially those who are living in remote or hard-to-reach areas. We believe that change grows steadily through safe spaces, working together, and an unwavering commitment to human dignity. We wish you a peaceful and just 2026.
With hope and solidarity,
Women Inspiration Development Center TEAM
