You helped Agape achieve her dream - thank you!

Agape arriving at University

All of us at Rwanda-one4one share in the joy and pride of Agape’s incredible achievement. Thanks to your generous support, our organization has been able to cover Agape’s school fees since 2016—and today, we are thrilled to celebrate how far she has come.

Agape grew up in Rubavu, in Rwanda’s Western Province. When Agape was still a child, her father passed away, leaving her mother to raise her and her siblings alone. Her family faced deep poverty, and every school term was a struggle to afford fees, uniforms, and supplies. Yet through it all, Agape’s mother encouraged her education and dreams for a brighter future.

From a young age, Agape stood out for her curiosity and determination. After completing primary school, she was placed at a secondary school far from home through Rwanda's national education placement system where she could only visit her family during holidays. Despite the distance and challenges, she remained focused and consistently achieved top marks, earning the respect of her teachers, peers and family at home.

Her hard work paid off. In her final year of secondary school, Agape applied to the University of Rwanda and was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors) in Transport and Logistics Management. In October, she began her freshman year at the Huye Campus, ready to embrace this next chapter with confidence and hope.

Agape’s journey is a powerful reminder of why your support matters. Because of you, a young woman from a small village in Rwanda has risen above hardship to pursue her education, and inspire others to do the same.

Her name—Agape, meaning “unconditional love”*—beautifully reflects the spirit of our community and the difference your generosity makes every day.

Thank you for believing in Agape, and in the power of education to transform lives.
