Empowerher period initiative provides a Menstrual Hygiene Education and Sanitary Pad Distribution Program for girls in deprived communities across Ghana. This initiative will provide menstrual health education, distribute free sanitary pads, and establish a Community Pad Bank at the Foundation's office as a sustainable access point for vulnerable girls. Our goal is to reduce school absenteeism, prevent infections, protect dignity, and ensure that no girl is left behind because of her period
In many deprived communities in Ghana: Girls miss school during menstruation due to lack of sanitary pads. Some use unsafe and unhygienic materials. Menstruation remains stigmatized and poorly understood. Poverty makes sanitary products unaffordable for many families. As a result, girls experience shame, poor academic performance, health risks, and reduced confidence.
Dels Foundation will: Conduct menstrual hygiene education in schools and communities. Distribute free sanitary pads to vulnerable girls. Establish a Pad Bank at our office premises, where girls can access emergency sanitary supplies in a safe and confidential environment. Provide reproductive health guidance and mentorship. Engage parents, teachers, and community leaders to reduce stigma and promote awareness. The Pad Bank will serve as a long-term, reliable support system
Improved school attendance and academic performance. Reduced health risks and infections. Sustained access to menstrual products through the Pad Bank. Increased confidence, dignity, and resilience among girls. Stronger community awareness and support for menstrual health. Your donation will not only provide pads - it will restore dignity, protect education, and build resilience for thousands of girls across Ghana.
