  • Duration: 21 days intensive training (Phase II)

  • Participants: 30 women (widows, divorcees, female heads of households, caregivers of chronically ill family members)

  • Outcome: Graduates received professional sewing kits with essential supplies to start income generation immediately.

  • Impact: Sewing skills are seen as a gateway to financial independence, resilience, and reduced family suffering.

4. Sustainability and Advocacy

This project is among the most critical humanitarian interventions for Yemeni women and girls today.

  • Advocacy: SORD continues to raise awareness and mobilize support via the GlobalGiving platform.

  • Future Needs: Expanded donor support is essential to scale activities and address evolving community challenges.

Conclusion

By combining livelihood support with protection services, SORD has laid a strong foundation for empowering women and girls in Yemen. Beneficiaries are now better equipped to achieve self-reliance, resilience, and active community participation. Sustained donor engagement will ensure these gains are expanded and preserved.
