BOKAMOSO LIFE CENTRE REPORT
JULY 2025
We have reached 2025 mid-year at Bokamoso Life Centre. The Centre is still running with positive energy. The beneficiaries are still attending and are enthusiastic about reaching their individual set goal in the end .The year still looks fruitful ahead.
Youth Development Program:
Since we had a high intake in the beginning of the year, the Centre is still running at a high number of 60 beneficiaries, of which only a small percentage dropped out of the program. The current 60 beneficiaries who are constantly working hard to achieve their keys to a better future through Bokamoso Scholarship funded by the Bokamoso Youth Foundation
Department of Social Development Programs:
The Centre is offering Computer and Life Skills to the beneficiaries of Youth Development Program (YDP) and other youth walk-ins from the community. The Social Development funding enables the Centre to train Youth on NQF Level 3 Life Skills and End-User Computing qualifications which will enable them to be employable or get easily placed with stipend by placement organizations giving the service.
Computer Skills Training:
The Centre trained over 50 YDP beneficiaries since January 2025. The beneficiaries who finished in March have already received their Life Skills and End-User Computing Certificates with Level 3 Accreditation. In June 2025 Graduation Ceremony was held for the beneficiaries who qualified in last quarter of 2024 and the once for the first quarter of 2025. They were issued Certificate of Competency in Computer Literacy, Computer Practical’s Certificate and Life Skills Certificate.
The Centre will be planning another Skills graduation Ceremony as soon as the certificates for the second quarter of the year are received. This will include some of the YDP beneficiaries who completed the skills training ( Life Skills and End-User Computing)
Life Skills training-
In the past 3 months 50 beneficiaries were trained in Life Skills. The is an intake of more for the new beneficiaries’ quarter starting from July 2025.
Department of Health Programs:
The HTS (HIV testing and support) program with the Department of Health the Centre has continued from April 2025 and will be running through to March 2026. This program is for the Centre to give services to the community to access HIV/AIDS testing and support, testing for diabetes, blood pressure and health talks though campaigns.
Scholarships 2024
In 2025, Scholarship was awarded as follows: 3 undergraduates, 7 diploma. An additional beneficiary has been paid for to start her studies (Diploma) with Tshwane and will be starting when the schools open. For April to June, we have 7 beneficiaries getting training on Security Skills. We also have 11 who are receiving drivers’ lessons and are paid for through Scholarship.
Success stories
The partnership between Bokamoso Life Centre and Tidimalong After Care Community Centre is still active. Through Tidimalong, Bokamoso managed to place 13 beneficiaries through learnership with stipend at NPO’s in the surrounding communities, of which three were placed at Bokamoso. Additional 8 beneficiaries trained at Bokamoso got employment at various companies including the retail shops and schools.
Umvelinqangi Organization is also partnering with Bokamoso still. The 5 student offered Bursaries are finally starting their studies in August 2025, and will be catered for in all of their needs. Umvelinqangi Centre is also in constant communication with Bokamoso with the possibility of getting more of our beneficiaries acquiring Bursaries in 2025/2026 to study at Regent College.
Stakeholders’ involvement
We still partner with the stakeholders of previous years and will continue with beneficiaries’ workshops, information sharing and staff training.
A new partnership with University of South Africa (UNISA) Theatre and Literature has been formed. Our Beneficiaries had several rehearsals for two drama shows that the youths will be performing in September 2025.

Centre Development
Bokamoso is currently working with Finance Hat Auditing Firm that assists with bookkeeping. The improved payroll system has been put in place and is fully functional. They also seeing to the compliance of UIF, tax deductions and payments to South African Revenue Services (SARS) by affected employees is up to date monthly.
Conclusion:
The Bokamoso Life Centrehas started a year with positive mode and is still holding on and pushing for the best to the end. The participation of our beneficiaries in various programs and life experiences ensures a better promising future of Winterveldt Community and surrounding areas.
