This project empowers families of children with disabilities in Bethlehem by establishing a CNC wood-carving workshop that produces handmade wooden plaques and decor pieces for sale. All revenues generated from product sales will directly support the monthly livelihood of these families, many of whom have lost their jobs due to the war and the burden of full-time caregiving.
Families of children with disabilities in Bethlehem face severe economic hardship, especially after the war. Many parents-mainly mothers-cannot work because they must provide full-time care for their children and have no flexible income opportunities. This leaves households without stable income, unable to meet basic needs or therapy costs, creating long-term poverty and urgent financial vulnerability.
This project provides flexible, home-based income opportunities for parents of children with disabilities by training them to produce CNC-carved wooden crafts and selling the products. Families can work during their available hours without leaving their children, creating sustainable income, reducing financial stress, and supporting essential monthly needs.
The project will create sustainable income for families, reducing long-term poverty and improving stability for children with disabilities. Caregivers gain lasting skills in CNC production, enabling continued earning beyond the project. The workshop becomes a self-sustaining social enterprise that supports families, strengthens community resilience, and enhances Noor Society's long-term capacity.
