A GIFT OF RESILIENCE

By Comfort Glikpo | Team Lead

In a quiet workshop, sunbeams spill over shelves of vibrant batik fabrics. The air carries the faint hum of irons, the scent of dyes, and the steady rhythm of concentration. This is where resilience takes shape, stitch by stitch, thanks to you—our generous GlobalGiving donors.
A Letter from the Field
Dear Cherished Donor,
Because you believed in the power of education and opportunity, a bright young woman in our community is stepping into a future she once only imagined. Your generosity funded a tie and Dye Batik training that began with one senior high school graduate. Today, she is not only mastering color, pattern, and technique; she is gaining the confidence to lead, teach, and dream bigger.
Your contribution sowed the seed for a ripple effect. With your help:
She learned practical skills—design planning, fabric dyeing, color chemistry, and small-batch production.
She built financial awareness and the beginnings of entrepreneurship, essential for turning craft into a sustainable livelihood.
She joined a growing network of women peers and mentors who lift each other up, celebrate wins, and share lessons learned.
A Journey Woven with Your Kindness
This project is about resilience—the resilience to pursue skill, income, and leadership in the face of challenges. We measure that resilience not only by completed training, but by what happens next: how these skills translate into steady income, how women influence decisions in their homes and communities, and how a culture of mutual support expands beyond the workshop doors.
Thanks to you:
The first trainee has become a symbol of possibility within her community.
We are poised to expand, training to more women in the next quarter, multiplying impact.
In Their Own Words
From the trainee who just finished the course: “I can see colors differently now. This isn’t just fabric—it’s a way to support my family and create a future for my siblings.” A mentor from the program adds: “Your generosity lights a pathway. These women are turning skills into confidence and leadership.”
How Your Donation Makes a Difference
Training materials and safety equipment ensure quality learning and humane, safe practice.
Mentorship and peer networks create a supportive environment where women can take risks and grow.
Documentation of processes and best practices means we can replicate success in other communities.
Looking Ahead with Gratitude
With your ongoing support, we will:
Expand training to additional women in tie and dye batik making in the coming quarter.
Connect graduates with micro-enterprise partnerships and markets
Integrate essential business skills to accompany craft training.
Host women-led showcase events to celebrate accomplishments and inspire others.
A Closed Loop of Thanks
To every donor, thank you for giving more than funds—you gave time, belief, and a doorway to hope. You helped turn talent into opportunity and dreams into beginnings.
With deepest gratitude,
DELS Foundation and the Batik Resilience Team
