In November, Orbis conducted a monitoring visit to a school in Garesse where a newly installed water-harvesting unit is now providing reliable access to clean water to over 2000 children. The school is also equipped with two handwashing stations, gender-segregated sanitation facilities, and a dedicated sanitary house for women and girls, significantly improving hygiene and dignity for students.
This demonstrates strong evidence of positive hygiene behaviour change, where improved access to water and sanitation has reinforced regular handwashing and better hygiene practices. These WASH investments are contributing to long-term, community-wide benefits by supporting disease prevention, strengthening trachoma control efforts, and creating healthier learning environments for children.
None of this would be possible without your support! On behalf of everyone at Orbis – Thank you!
